They have a huge selection and complete knowledge of their product line, so it made picking out materials and designs relatively easy. I say “relatively” because when you have that many choices, it can take a while. But, during the design process, we never felt rushed or hurried for a decision. Upon installation things went really well; especially considering they’re based on Woodinville and our new home is in Granite Falls.

As with any large project, not everything went perfectly. We had several locations on the flooring that was missing the transition strip, but availability of the product kept it from being installed at the time the rest of the flooring was put in. Rather than ask us to wait until all parts were available, they installed the majority of the flooring first. A few weeks after the flooring was put in and the transition strips were still missing, I called Builders Interiors and they were polite and direct with the reasons for the delay. While I would have liked it installed sooner, I didn’t feel like I was getting excuses: they owned the problem and were honest about the delay.

Later when one of our flooring panels cracked, getting it repaired and replaced was super-easy. We made a quick call, sent them a picture of the problem, and they had a guy out to not only replace the panel, but he also trimmed the cut-off earthquake strap that was left below the floor which caused the problem. Additionally, several years after the installation, our heated floor failed. Another call, a few pictures exchanged in email, and they helped diagnose the problem, walked me through removing the faulty control unit, and they had a replacement unit waiting for me when I showed up. No paperwork, no warranty discussions … they just took care of me.

In these reviews I keep seeing Andy’s name appearing and he was our contact with Builders Interiors. Love that guy and will absolutely work with Builders Interiors and Andy for any future interior update needs. - 5/06/2022

Up until a week ago, I owned a house in north Seattle for 22-years. It had been a rental for the past 16-years and when I decided last year to sell it my realtor and I talked it over and decided that it would be worthwhile to remodel the old kitchen given the very dated condition of the kitchen and strong market conditions. I mentioned remodeling the kitchen to a friend of mine and he recommended Andy Anderson & Builders Interiors in Woodinville for countertops and flooring.

I reached out to Andy and started working with him right away. I had a great experience working with Andy and all his crews, which is saying a lot b/c not all of the contractors working on the project would I want to work with again. Andy really knows his stuff and was able to help me and my wife make good, economical decisions around countertops, backsplash and flooring for a kitchen that was original circa 1946. Fortunately, Andy and his team were flexible for scheduling the phases of work b/c it simply took much longer than I originally anticipated (like that never happens!) and Andy and his project manager were able to adjust to meet my schedule. All of the teams that came in to install each piece were very good, fast and did their work beautifully and correctly on the first trip.
Best of all, the prices for each element (countertops, backsplash, flooring) were quite reasonable. I attribute their work, my work and the impeccable staging to having received 11 offers one week after we put it on the market! The next time I need countertops or the other items they sell, I will go see Andy Anderson first and that's the recommendation I make to you.

Builders Interiors provides the best customer service anyone can ask for. They were really fast installing and always on time. I had the master bathroom and two kitchen backsplashes done at the lowest price with the best quality materials and workmanship. I went to two other companies but they were way over price, it was almost more than double than what builders interiors estimated. Ty said that it would take two weeks to complete the project but everything was completed perfectly three days early. Jim is the best installer I can ever ask for.. everything was perfect! The sales person was professional but we hit a few snags. We were trying to coordinate the floor install with a water heater replacement but it was hard to get the two to agree on a time that worked for both of them. It got scheduled after Labor Day and someone didn't plan ahead so the flooring wasn't available when the water heater came out resulting in extra time for the plumber. Then the carpet measure was slightly off so one closet ended up with vinyl instead of carpet which is actually not a bad idea. The installers were great, very hard workers and the figured out ways around all the issues. We are very happy with the results. They also seem very flexible and can get things done quickly if you need it. Lots of flooring choices and generally helpful though I was hoping for more. Price was good. What is laminate flooring?

It is a multi-layer synthetic material fused together with a lamination process. Laminate flooring usually looks like wood, but it can also be designed to resemble stone, or other materials.

How much does laminate flooring cost?

At Builders Interiors, we have products available starting at just $1.50 per square foot. For really high-quality durable material, however, you’d be paying somewhere between $4-8 per square foot (usually including installation fees).

How much does it cost to install 1000 square feet of laminate floors?

With laminate flooring started at $1.50, Builders Interiors customers can enjoy 1000 square feet of laminate flooring for as little as $1500.

Is it cheaper to install tile or laminate flooring?

It depends on the type of tile or laminate flooring you choose. Generally, laminate is more cost-effective than tile, but it also depends on the size of the area you are covering and the complexity of the installation. How long does laminate flooring last?

It usually lasts between 15-25 years, but can go as long as 30 years without needing major repairs or replacement.

What is laminate flooring made of?

The core of laminate planks is made using melamine resin and fiberboard materials. The design you see on top (the wood or stone look) is a photographic applique layer under a transparent wear layer.

How many boxes of laminate flooring do I need?

To calculate how much laminate flooring you’ll need, first figure out the square footage of the rooms you’re installing them in. Then divide that by the size of each plank, and that’ll tell you how many planks you need. If you know how many planks come in a box, the next step is easy. Make sure you get 5-10% extra, just in case.

Where to buy laminate flooring?

Most flooring stores will have laminate flooring. However, you can also find it at home improvement stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s. Make sure you read the product’s details properly, and get something that’s right for your needs. If in doubt, ask someone.

What is the best cleaner for laminate floors?

You don’t need a special cleaning agent for laminate floors; sweeping and vacuuming are enough. Use a damp cloth to mop up spills, and you can use dish detergent for spot treatment (dry as soon as possible). Avoid wet mopping, or you may do irreversible damage.

What brands of laminate flooring have formaldehyde?

Formaldehyde is used in many home products (paint, fabric, detergent, flooring), and it can cause irritation, trigger asthma attacks, and have more serious health effects. There aren’t any brands that are particularly bad, but try to choose products that say “no added formaldehyde” on the label. And take precautions. Fresh air, low temperatures, and a no-smoking rule will go a long way in lowering formaldehyde emissions in your home.

What is the difference between vinyl and laminate flooring?

Vinyl is a plastic product, whereas laminate is a wood product. Another key difference is that vinyl is more moisture-resistant than laminate.

What goes under laminate flooring?

You can buy laminate planks that come with underlayment attached. It’s usually polyethylene foam, felt, or cork. Underlayment is a must when it comes to laminate flooring – especially if you want a floating floor.
